About Suvrat Joshi

Suvrat Joshi is an Indian film and television actor best known as Sujay Sathe in the sitcom Dildosti Duniyadari. He has acted in famous Marathi movies Dhakkala Shot, Party, and Man Fakira. Suvrat Joshi was born on 22 April 1985 in Pune. His father Shekhar Joshi and his uncle used to take him to watch theater plays. Since then he fell in love with theater plays and acting.

He did his college studies from Fergusson College, Pune. Suvrat Joshi has won the Nirmal Award for Best Actor, Purushottam Karandak in the Annual Inter-Collegiate Marathi One Act Drama Competition. And thus began his journey in theatre. He gave up his dream of becoming a journalist and decided to learn acting professionally from the National School of Drama.

He also got a chance to hone his acting skills under the tutelage of Samar Nakhate, Atul Pethe and others. Since then Suvrat Joshi has also been a part of many popular theater plays, including Dreams of Talim, Amar Photo Studio, Binkamache Sanwad. After a successful career in theatre, Suvrat Joshi ventured into the world of television in 2015.

He was also selected to play the role of Sujay Sathe in the Marathi sitcom Dildosti Duniyadari. The series focuses on the lives of six friends who live as flatmates. The show recapitulated the sentiments of the youth and was appreciated for its originality and fresh humour. The show became a hit within no time and attracted a huge number of viewers. So therefore, due to its popularity, Suvrat Joshi along with the cast also appeared in the sequel of the show called Dil Dosti Dobara.

In the show, he played the character of Gaurav Bal. Suvrat made his debut in the Marathi film industry with the film Shikari. His next film, Party, released in 2018. Directed by Sachin Darekar, the film also stars Suvrat , Prajakta Mali, Manjiripupala and others. His character Omi is also very loyal to his friends and girlfriend.

In 2019, Suvrat was also seen in the film Dhakkala Shot. Abhijeet, played by Suvrat Joshi, suffers short-term memory loss due to a head injury. In 2020, Suvrat Joshi made a comeback on television with the show Aatshe Khidkya Naushe Dara. Some of his other projects are Safe Journeys, Man Fakira, Katho Upanishad, Dushar etc. Suvrat Joshi married Sakhi Gokhale, his co-star in Dil Dosti Duniyadari. Sakhi Gokhale is a Marathi girl, and was born on 27 July 1999.
