Prosenjit Chatterjee is an Indian actor and producer who primarily serves in the Bengali film industry. Prosenjit Chatterjee’s only son was born on 30 September 1962 in Calcutta. Prosenjit was fondly called Bamba Da by his fans for his roles in Bengali films only. He also did more than 300 films in his career.
His career spanned more than two decades, and his popularity is still undeniable. Also in 2007, he was awarded the National Award Silver Lotus for his role in the superhit film Doosar. He did his schooling till class 10 at Calcutta Airport English High School. For his studies as well, he attended St. Xavier’s Collegiate School. Even after his school career, he went to St. Xavier’s College in Calcutta for his higher education. He started his career with the film Dutee Paat (1983) in the lead role; It revolves around a teenage romance. After starring in the film Tarun Mazumdar Apon Amar Apon (1990).
Bollywood director David Dhawan signed her for his film Aandhiyan (1990), which made her a rising star of Indian cinema. Prosenjit again played the lead role in Mehul Kumar’s Meet Mere Mann Ke (1991) alongside Ayesha Jhulka, Salma Agha, and Feroz Khan. Even after 21 years, he also made a grand comeback in Bollywood in Shanghai. He is also gearing up for his next film Traffic.
His latest work was also Arun Chatterjee in Autograph directed by Srijit Mukherjee. He produced the film Bapi Bari Jaa and released it on 7 December 2012. He married Debashree Roy in 1992 but got divorced in 1995. He remarried to Aparna Guhathakurta in 1997 and they were divorced in 2002. Aparna Chatterjee. He also has a daughter Trishanjit Chatterjee from Aparna. He is also currently at the International Institute of Photography in Kolkata as Chief Mentor.
