Jisshu Sengupta also popularly known as Jishu on 15 March 1977 is an Indian actor producer and television presenter who has worked in both Hindi and Bengali cinema. But Sengupta has also studied in Julian Day School where he was completely immersed in cricket

Jisshu Sengupta made his debut in showbiz through the Bengali television series Mahaprabhu where he also narrated the role of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. And the role had catapulted her to stardom overnight.

After appearing in critically and commercially unsuccessful films, he also met director Rituparno Ghosh, which made Sengupta think more about his film choices.
And also under the tutelage of Ghosh, she also gave some of her critically acclaimed performances in films including The Last Lear, Shob Choritro Kalponik (2008), Chitrangada, and Abohoman in Ek Unfaithful Husband.
And Shob Choritro Kalponik also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali in 2009. The Times of India also stated that “Jisshu Sengupta also gave one of the finest performances of his career in the role of a drug addict. And (in Chitrangada: The Crowning Wish)”.
